IDL (hybrid) education is a combination of convenient online learning and face-to-face classroom and lab experiences. The IOT hybrid programs were created to provide hands-on in-person training and a flexible schedule for students.

Your IOT classroom is where your role in practical nursing can begin through a real-world focus in areas such as geriatrics, adult health, obstetrics, pediatrics, community health, leadership, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, psychology, pharmacology, clinical nursing procedures, communication, ethics, the nursing process, and career enhancement.

We want to make your learning and career goals even more achievable, so we pay your NCLEX-PN licensure exam fees, and structure our program to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the requirements of the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Coursework includes 18 classroom/theory classes and four laboratory/clinical classes over approximately 50 weeks.

What can I do with the Practical Nursing - IDL program?

As a practical nurse, you can pursue entry-level employment following successful NCLEX-PN licensure in a variety of health care settings, including the following:

  • Physicians’ offices
  • Clinics
  • Home health agencies
  • Other health agencies
  • Outpatient care centers
  • Skilled nursing facilities

The performance numbers listed here represent the Completion and Placement Rates for this program at our Salem, Oregon Campus.

ACCET Graduation Rate: 76%
ACCET Placement Rate: 72.73%
Placement Rate Methodology: All students who completed the program within 150% of the normal program length and were originally scheduled to complete the program. 15% of graduates (or 10 graduates), have been included in the placement rate calculation, who have completed training, but have waived placement assistance and are designated as waivers. ACCET has set a 15% maximum for the percentage allowed in the waiver column, all of which must be documented, including the student’s signature, date, and notification of a specific reason for the waiver. Waivers that bring the percentage above 15% will be disallowed and will increase the number of eligible completions, thereby decreasing the placement percentage.

Graduates of this program are trained for employment in any of the following Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) Codes.
