Do you aspire to serve patient care in an administrative support role? If the idea of working in a fast-paced medical office setting sounds exciting to you, IOT’s diploma program in this exciting area of health care can put you on this path in just a short time.

This is a NEW HYBRID program! Hybrid education is a combination of convenient online learning and face-to-face classroom and lab experiences. The IOT hybrid programs were created to provide hands-on in-person training and a flexible schedule for students.

We offer Medical Billing and Clinic Office Administration degrees at our campuses in Clovis, Modesto, and Redding, California as well as in Salem, Oregon.

At IOT, we want to see you reach all of your learning and career goals, which is why we incorporate a 5-week externship into your Medical Billing and Office Administration (MBOA) program curriculum.

Your MBOA training immerses you in the real world of your specialty from day one in the classroom, so you can be ready for day one on the job. Skills and knowledge areas of focus include:

  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Coding procedures
  • Management/execution of various medical insurance plans and programs
  • Medical and pharmaceutical terminology
  • Medical billing and collections
  • Medical ethics and public relations

Students can also develop keyboarding, 10-key calculator and transcription skills.

Start your career as a medical office professional

If you want to prepare for a career on the administrative side of health care, our medical office training program in Clovis could be right for you. As a student, you’ll gain a basic understanding of medical billing and coding procedures, human anatomy and physiology, pharmaceutical and medical terminology, and more.

Curriculum is designed to teach you the skills employers are looking for in a medical receptionist. During the program, you can learn how to record and file patient histories, schedule patient appointments, manage medical insurance plans, code medical procedures, and perform a variety of administrative duties.
