44 Weeks to a New Career!

Do you aspire to a career on the front lines of nursing care? Have you been searching for a practical nursing program in Salem? Institute of Technology’s accelerated program can put you on a path to a career in this exciting health care field in just a short time.

Your IOT classroom is where your role in practical nursing can begin through a real-world focus in areas such as:

  • Nursing care through Lifespan vs. Geriatic, adult health, pediatrics, obstetrics
  • Community health
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Pathophysiology
  • Psychology
  • Pharmacology
  • Clinical nursing procedures
  • Communication, ethics, the nursing process, and career enhancement

We want to make your learning and career goals even more achievable, so we pay your NCLEX-PN licensure exam fees, and structure our program to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the requirements of the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Coursework includes 19 classroom/theory classes and four laboratory/clinical classes over approximately 44 weeks.

Graduates from this program will be entitled to receive a certificate of completion and have their name submitted to OBSN as a candidate for the NCLEX-PN. Successfully passing the NCLEX-PN and gaining licensure from OSBN entitles the graduate to use the credentials LPN or Licensed Practical Nurse.

  • “Going to IOT was one of the best decisions of my life. I have always wanted to be a Chef since I was young … was privileged to get to do my externship at Erna’s Elderberry House where I was offered a job. After working there a few months I started receiving multiple job offers. I decided to accept the position as Head of Catering at Madera Community Hospital.”

Accreditation is the process of evaluating a school or educational training program to determine whether it meets standards set up by an accrediting organization. When you attend an accredited institution, you are attending a school that has undergone a rigorous process that evaluates educational quality. It’s not easy to become or remain an accredited institution. The rules and regulations are strict, precise and designed to protect students. Here are some of the benefits:

 A reliable indicator of quality
 Approved program of study
 Qualified instructors
