Possible Transfer Options with IOT

Whether you attended Pioneer Pacific College at the Springfield or Beaverton locations, the Institute of Technology (IOT) has established a pathway to allow those who attended Pioneer the opportunity to finish out their programs with IOT!

IOT’s pathway allows students to retain/transfer almost all credits that were completed at Pioneer. If you are interested in reviewing your options, please reach out to the Admissions Department by sending an email to pioneerinfo@iot.edu.

Official transcripts are required if a student is interested in transferring to the Institute of Technology, or to any other college/university. At this time however, IOT will accept an unofficial transcript (or grade card); as this will allow IOT to evaluate your courses. Please note that an OFFICIAL transcript will be required to START classes at IOT!

If you are having difficulty requesting your transcripts, IOT can work with you through that process!

Professional Medical Assistant (PMA)

The PMA program at IOT is a 10-month program that consists of eight (8) modules, each five (5) weeks in length. Upon successful completion of the Professional Medical Assistant program, a student may be eligible to take the Certified Medical Assistant exam with the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Medical Office Administration Billing and Coding (MOABC)

The MOABC program at IOT is a 10-month program that consists of eight (8) modules, each five (5) weeks in length. Upon successful completion of the Medical Office Administration Billing and Coding program, a student may be eligible to take the Medical Office Administration (NCCT-MOA) certification exam and/or the Insurance Coding (NCCT-NCICS) certification exam(s).

Practical Nursing (PN)

The PN program at IOT is a 12-month program that consists of four (4) terms, each eleven (11) weeks in length. The Practical Nursing program at the Institute of Technology is approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

Institute of Technology is and all of its programs are approved by the Department of Education. IOT is also authorized by the Office of Degree Authorization (ODA) to award diplomas and degrees and accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training.

The pathway that the Institute of Technology is exploring ideally would reduce the tuition and supplies/books of the applicable program based on what classes are transferred. For a course to be eligible for transfer, a grade of ‘C’ or higher is required. Those wishing to explore their transfer options will be required to submit applicable college required documents.

IOT looks forward to helping Pioneer students in exploring their options! Please email us or call with any questions!
