With a balanced mix of classroom instruction and hands-on, technical experience, Institute of Technology’s Industrial Maintenance and Automated Technology (IMAT) program can prepare you for the career you want. Courses cover troubleshooting techniques and procedures for mechanical and electrical applications, as well as topics like:
- Pneumatics
- Wiring
- Plumbing
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Liquid piping
- Safety considerations
Hours of Instruction/Program Length
This program is 800 hours and 49.5 quarter credit hours. Classes are held Monday through Thursday for 40 weeks. An Independent Study component is included. See your admissions representative for available class times.

Upon completion of the IMAT program, you will receive a Diploma and be prepared to perform mechanical and electric repair and preventive maintenance in industrial or commercial settings.
