IOT Clovis Campus Participates in Rodeo Parade
The Clovis, CA community celebrated the 105th Clovis Rodeo the last weekend in April 2019. For the first time the Institute of Technology (IOT) participated in the annual Clovis Rodeo parade. The 102nd Clovis Rodeo Parade took place on April 27th starting at 9:30 am. Participants wound their way through Old Town Clovis on Pollasky and Clovis Avenues between Barstow Avenue and Third Street.
The Clovis Institute of Technology campus, located on Herndon Ave. between Peach and Willow, is a familiar neighbor to Old Town Clovis. IOT has a long history of participating in various Old Town Clovis events including Wine Walks, Farmer’s Markets, Farm to Table events and much more. Participating in the Clovis Rodeo Parade was an exciting new way for IOT to be involved in a Clovis community event.
The IOT float team was comprised of students, graduates, staff, and faculty. This was an experience that allowed the IOT team to collaborate on putting the float together and spend time together outside of work/school. IOT prides itself on a family atmosphere, it says it right in the mission statement: Our family mission is to inspire, support, and empower students through education and career development.
The IOT float showcased the IOT family with an Instructor at a podium, Cosmetology and Barbering students showed off their salon chairs, staff, faculty and students represented in their medical, culinary, technical, criminology, and cosmetology/barbering programs in uniforms or IOT T-shirts, and past graduates proudly represented in their graduation cap and gown. The best part was the fun and enjoyment had by those who participated. There were a lot of smiling faces and it was a great day for IOT Clovis!
