How To Solve The Rehabilitation Crisis

There’s an urgent need for rehabilitation services due to a dramatic shift in people living longer and with disabling chronic conditions.

In response, the World Health Organization (WHO) put out a call for action indicating that the “magnitude and scope of unmet rehabilitation needs” is so great that it is a worldwide health priority.

The goal of rehabilitation is to regain or optimize functioning for individuals with health conditions, impairment, or injury. This includes ongoing and short term injury, disease, disorder, and more. Increasing the access to rehabilitation is necessary to ensure a high quality of life for people of all ages.

You can be the solution. At IOT, we have medical programs that focus on rehabilitation such as our Massage Therapy program.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is important to standard injury rehabilitation procedures. Clinical massage therapy provides site-specific treatment with a precise goal of rehabilitation in mind. Utilizing a Professional Massage Therapist is similar to going to physical therapy; massage therapists create long-term and short-term treatment plans to facilitate improvement for a patient’s impairment. Seeing a licensed massage therapist regularly will allow the massage therapist to get to know the patient’s body and help them identify potential issues and solutions that would work best for each individual situation.

Whether you’re interested in working at a clinic, a private practice, an athletic team, or somewhere around the world, there is a need for massage therapists. IOT joined forces with California’s first Nationally Accredited Massage Therapy School, National Holistic Institute (NHI), to provide a program where you can become a Licensed Massage Therapist in as little as 8 months. You will be mentored and trained by experienced and dedicated massage professionals. We will offer student clinics that provide you with real-life hands-on experience.
