IOT’s Nursing Assistant program will give you the knowledge and skills to assist licensed nurses as a Level One Nursing Assistant.

Training that transfers to your career

Your IOT classroom is where your role as a level one nursing assistant can begin through a real-world focus in areas such as person centered care, infection control and standard or transmission based precautions, safety and emergency procedures, activities of daily living, collaboration with health care team, observation and reporting, documentation, and end of life care.

Hours of Instruction/Program Length

The content of the program is designed to meet the curriculum requirements of the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN). Students are required to complete 80 hours of classroom time and perform 75 hours in a clinical setting – successfully demonstrating 81 patient/resident care lab skills and 41 patient/resident care clinical skills.

Graduates from IOT’s Level One Nursing Assistant program may be eligible to sit for their state board exam and enter the medical field with the skills needed to provide compassionate and effective care.
